TRUTH'S ACROSTICK AN ELEGIE UPON The most renowned, true, and unparalleld Worthy Knight, Sir Paul Pindar Deceased.

Hodie Præivi.

Dives fui, sed pauperi, Cursum peregi, sidem servavi. In reliquo, reposita est mihi Corona justitiæ.

Cras me sequeris.

Stand, read, admire, none living like to this
Inestimable Gemme; now crown'd in bliss,
Rewarded now; the pining poor will miss.
Pious Sir Paul, where shall the poor now find
A Saint on Earth so charitably inclin'd.
Uirtue, Religion, Faith, and good works, all
Lives to Eternity, in this Sir Paul.
Patient he liv'd, most lib'rall to the poore,
In Death a true Saint did t'encrease Heav'ns store,
No grumbling giver, in his life time he
Did Thousands feed; O perfect charitie.
Art thou then dead? farewell faire pietie
Releas'd by Death, to live Eternally.
Knowledge and zeal, true worth, Faith, Hope, & Love,
None practis'd more, then this confined Dove.
In acts of Grace, none can his like behold,
Gold smothers Vertue; Charity is cold.
Hard hearted, turn'd to stone; now He is gone,
This Age for charity, the like findes none.
N. Richards.
