VVhat boots Complaint (if it be made alone)
To him whose help without himself doth lye?
But to cause Mone effect more cause of moane,
Or make Dispaire wan hopes best remedy:
Sith now, ó Tirant Griefe, thou long hast had
The sack of my subdued hartie Cheere,
Rest, rest awhile let no new fires be made
Vnto thy Spoiles that are consumed neere.
O Reason what cleer Eyes hast thou to see
Our Euils! & how blind in shunning them!
My Reason sees my Griefs extremity
Yet sees not how to make it lesse extreame:
For, since I loue you (Sweet) I can but grieue,
To see you raze the hopes which me relieue.
