Our father which in heauen doste sit,
We sanctifie thy name,

1140

Our praier we praye thee to admyt,
Quene Mary saue from blame.
Thy kyngdome be vs here among,
As in our hartes to raigne,
Queene Mary prosper thou here long,
Her honour none to stayne.
Thy wyll in earth be done and wrought,
Right as it is aboue.
Quene Mary bothe in deede and thought,
Maye thee bothe dreade and loue.
Our dayly breade geue vs this daye,
With all that wee doo nede
Our noble Quene Mary we praye,
Thou sende alwaye good speede.
And nowe (O Lorde) our synnes remit
Whiche we haue thee transgrest,
As we doo lette our neighbour flyt,
Out of our inward brest.
And lette vs not be ouercome
By fowle temptacion,
Our Quene thou graunt (of thy wysdom)
To honour thee alone.
But vs delyuer by thy myght,
From euery kynde of yll.
Quene Mary keepe bothe daye and night,
And prosper to thy wyll.

Te deum, lauding god specially with prayer therin, for our Quene Mary.

O God thy name we magnifie,
In thy sanctuary:
For that thou hast of thy mercy,
Sent vs our Quene Mary.
To thee, this all our Englishe grounde,
Doth render prayse alway:
Whome mercyfull hath euer founde,
So healpe vs styll we praye.
To thee the heauens incessantlye,
In orders as they bee,
Proclayme thy glorie worthyly,
With all felicitie.
Fyrst Cherubyn, and Seraphyn,
Wyth ardent loue entier
Synge night and daye, and doeth not lin
In theyr feruent manere
Holy art thou, father of might
Holy arte thou O sonne
Holy art thou, O heauenly spirite,
Three in one vnion.
Thou art Lord God of Sabaoth,
Of hostes, that is to say
So passyng hyghe, thy power goeth,
All thynges muste thee obaye.
Bothe heauen and earth are fylled full,
wyth glorye of thy name,
Our Quene thou shielde from all trouble.
And magnyfy her fame.
The quire of the apostels thine,
Hath in thy praise delight:
Graūt our deare Quene here long to shine
And to enioye her right.
The number passyng laudable,
Of Prophetes all and some:
Sette foorthe thy prayse honourable
And soueraygne wysedome.
The goodly fellowshyppe so sweete
Of Martyrs flouryshynge,
Lowlye kneelynge before thy feete,
Thy prayse doothe alwayes synge.
The holye churche here militaunt
Ouer the worlde so rounde,
Setth foorth thy prayse of couenaunt,
As therevnto moste bounde.
Confessing thee father to bee,
(As truth thou art no lesse)
Of a surmounting maiestye,
Passing for to expresse.
Professyng with all constancie,
Thy honorable sonne
Of thee to be gotten truely,
Ere oughtes were here begonne.
The holy ghost, as to procede
From these highe persons twayne:
Who (with his grace) doth all men feede,
That mekenes doth contayne.
O Trinitie, in vnitie
Our Quene do thou respecte:
Her onely guide euer to be,
And in her right protecte.
O Christ, thou art we verify
Of glory, Lorde and kyng:
And sonne of the father on hye,
With him euer raigning.
When thou didst please man to restore,
With thee to raigne alwaye:
Thou dydst not loathe, eyther abhorre,
The vyrgins wombe that daye.
No more do now withdraw thy grace,
we humbly thee requyre:
Our Quene inhabite in lyke case,
with grace her to enspyre.
The sting of death by the was ouercome,
To true beleuers all:
Thou didst set open thy kingdome,
The royaulme celestiall.
Now syttest thou on the right hande,
Of God thy Father deere.
Preserue (O Lorde) mery England,
And make it so tappere.
Thou arte beleued (certaynly)
To comme and be our Iudge,
That daye (O Lorde) shewe thy mercy
And bee oure chiefe refuge.
Therfore we pray with humble moode,
Thy seruauntes to sustayne:
whom thou with thy most precious blood,
Redemed haste from payne.
Make vs to be numbred on hye,
In glory with thy sainctes:
which in thy ioye doth glorifye,
And therein neuer fayntes.

1141

Thy peeple saue and blesse also,
Thy righte inheritage:
Our Queene, where she doth ryde or goe,
Thou kepe from all dammage.
And gouerne them, that here be thyne,
Extolling (by thy grace)
Up to the heuen Christalline,
There to beholde thy face.
Here day by day (as we are bounde)
Thy name we magnifie:
Our Queene, see thou with honor cround,
who loueth thee specially.
And in the worlde of worldes to come,
we shall thy prayse enure:
Thither to come, graunt all and some
There euer to endure.
Uouchsafe this day, from sin, and crime
To gouerne vs we praye,
Our quene graunt here to reygn lōg time,
And to obserue thy waye.
Haue mercy (Lorde) on vs synners,
Haue mercy on vs all:
Our synnes are manye and dyuers,
Remitte them greate, and small.
Thy mercy (Lorde) let on vs light,
As we do trust in thee:
And saue our Quene both day and nighte,
In high prosperitie.
In thee O lorde hath our whole truste
Bene stedfastly grounded:
Let neuer vs as thou art iuste,
Be clearely confounded.
