Fairy Charms.

[If you find an Indian arrow-head]

If you find an Indian arrow-head,
And take it with you at night to bed,
A lady will come to you in a dream,
And fly with you to a rolling stream,
And row you, over the water blue,
To Plum-Tree Land, in a stone canoe.

[If a moccasin you put]

If a moccasin you put
Of different color on either foot,
And all alone to the hills you go,
And say to the trees, “Amanito!”
Within that very day and year
You will catch the snow-white fairy deer.
