O'er it swells the arch of heaven,
Boundless arch of softest blue;
Round it rise the halls of even,
Hung with every gorgeous hue.

To the spirit-land of wonder,
Cloud-concealed, it speeds afar,
Borne on wings of rushing thunder,

Rolling high, like ocean surges,
When the midnight Typhon rings,—
