REPORT ON THE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN FOR THE UNIVERSITY
The President reported that the final figure for the three year Capital Campaign of $145.9 million included approximately $8 million of research awards from private industry as identified by the University's Audit Department.
Although these awards were actually received by the University, according to generally accepted gift reporting practices, these awards would normally be classified as sponsored programs rather than as gifts. Therefore, the $8 million in private industry research awards should not be included in the Capital Campaign totals.
