MOTIONS FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION

The following motions were adopted unanimously by the vote of all voting Visitors present:

  • That the Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia go into Executive Session for the purpose of consulting with the General Counsel concerning certain pending litigation involving the University, as well as specific legal matters requiring the advice of counsel, as provided for in Section 2.1-344 (A) (7) of the Code of Virginia.
  • That the Educational Policy Committee of The Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia go into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing personnel matters pertaining to the appointment, assignment, reappointment, promotion, performance, compensation, discipline, separation and resignation of specific faculty members of the University of Virginia, as provided for in Section 2.1-344 (A) (1) of the Code of Virginia.
  • That the Audit Committee of The Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia go into Executive Session for the purpose of considering reports and recommendations of the University Auditor related to the recently completed fiscal audits and performance evaluations of certain University departments and programs, as permitted by Section 2.1-344 (A) (1) of the Code of Virginia.
  • That the External Affairs Committee of the Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia go into Executive Session for the discussion or consideration of matters relating to gifts, bequests, and fundraising activities in connection with our Campaign, as provided for in Section 2.1-344 (A) (8) of the Code of Virginia.
  • That the Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia go into Executive Session for the purpose of considering the appointment of a student member to the Board of Visitors in accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) (1) of the Code of Virginia.
  • That the Health Affairs Committee of The Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia go into Executive Session, with General Counsel, for the purpose of evaluating proprietary, business related information pertaining to the operations of the Medical Center in including activities with existing and proposed joint ventures, and the, and the investing of public funds where competition or bargaining is involved, when if made public initially the financial interest of the University would be adversely affected, as provided for in Section 2.1-344 (A) (6) and (24) of the Code of Virginia.
  • That the External Affairs Committee of the Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia go into Executive Session for the discussion or consideration of matters relating to gifts, bequests, and fund-raising activities in connection with our Campaign, as provided for in Section 2.1-344 (A) (8) of the Code of Virginia.
  • That the Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia go into Executive Session for the purpose of considering the appointment of a student member to the Board of Visitors in accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) (1) of theCode of Virginia.
