RESOLUTION REGARDING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CLINCH
VALLEY COLLEGE AND THE UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA

The following resolution was adopted:

  • WHEREAS Clinch Valley College was founded in 1954 as a branch college of the University of Virginia, and ever since has offered educational programs and services which are an important and vital part of the University's mission to the Commonwealth; and
  • WHEREAS the Board of Visitors last affirmed the relationship between the College and the University in 1972; and

  • 4916

  • WHEREAS the Faculty of the College and the Clinch Valley College Advisory Council have expressed their desire to sustain and nurture the College's affiliation with the University;
  • RESOLVED that the Board of Visitors affirms its desire to continue serving as the statutory authority of Clinch Valley College, and further that the Board supports strengthening and enhancing the relationship between the College and the University, a relationship that is unique among Virginia's senior colleges and universities.
