RESOLUTION REGARDING THE NEUROLOGICAL INSTITUTE OF THE
UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA AND COMMISSIONING THE PRESIDENT TO DEVELOP A PLAN FOR THE INSTITUTE

  • The following resolution was adopted:
  • WHEREAS the President and the Board of Visitors have been requested to consider the creation of the Neurological Institute of the University of Virginia so that the treatment of neurological disorders and the teaching and research of the neurological sciences may be conducted within a more efficient organizational framework; and
  • WHEREAS the proposal to establish such an Institute is worthy of serious consideration;
  • RESOLVED that The Rector and Visitors request the President to develop a plan for the creation, operation, and management of a Virginia Neurological Institute that is consistent with the purposes, responsibilities, and mission of the University of Virginia;
  • RESOLVED FURTHER that the President present such a plan to the Health Affairs Committee and other appropriate Committee of the Board of Visitors for their review and recommendations to the full Board.
