RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION TO RAYMOND M. HAAS

The following resolution was adopted:

• WHEREAS, Raymond M. Haas became Professor of Commerce (Marketing) and Vice President for Administration at the University of Virginia on September 1, 1982; and
• WHEREAS, Mr. Haas, a native of New Jersey and an alumnus of Rider College, Lehigh University and Indiana University, has served the University ably and with great distinction; and
• WHEREAS, Mr. Haas has also been an active member of the Charlottesville community, serving on a number of boards and committees and working closely with community and government leaders in Charlottesville and Albemarle County as an official of the University to encourage good community relations; and
• WHEREAS, Mr. Haas will retire as Vice President at the end of 1991 to return to full-time teaching;
• NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia recognizes and thanks Mr. Haas for his distinguished service to the University as Vice President for Administration.

On motion, the meeting adjourned at 2:50 p.m.
