MOTIONS FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION

  • The following motions were unanimously adopted by the vote of all Visitors present:

  • 3692

  • (a) That the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for consultation with Legal Counsel pertaining to actual or probable litigation, or other specific legal matters requiring the provision of legal advice by Counsel, as provided for in Section 2.1-344 A. (7) of the Virginia Code.
  • (b) That the Educational Policy Committee of the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 16 on that Committee's agenda for the discussion or consideration of personnel matters involving University appointees including employment, assignment, appointment, promotion, performance, demotion, salaries, discipling or resignation of faculty, appointees or employees of the University of Virginia as provided for in Section 2.1-344 A. (1) of the Code of Virginia.
  • (c) That the Finance Committee of the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 18 on that Committee's agenda for the discussion or consideration of the condition, acquisition or use of real property for public purpose, or of the disposition of publicly held property, or of plans for the future of a state institution of higher education which could affect the value of property owned or desirable for ownership by such institution as provided for in Section 2.1-344 A. (3) of the Code of Virginia.
  • (d) That the Finance Committee of the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 17 on that Committee's agenda for the evaluation of University Departments and Schools if specific individual employees might be affected by the evaluation as provided for in Section 2.1-344 A. (1) of the Code of Virginia.
  • (e) That the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for the discussion or consideration of matters related to gifts, bequests, and fundraising activities and the investing of public funds, as provided for in Sections 2.1-344 A.(6) and (8) of the Code of Virginia.
  • (f) That the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for the discussion or consideration of personnel matters involving University appointees including employment, assignment, appointment, promotion, performance, demotion, salaries, discipling or resignation of faculty, appointees or employees of the University of Virginia as provided for in Section 2.1-344 A.(1) of the Code of Virginia.
