ACTIONS RELATING TO CHAIRHOLDERS
- The following resolution was adopted:
RESOLVED that the actions relating to Chairholders be and they are hereby approved as shown below: - Mr. Guillermo Carnero as Frank Talbott, Jr., Visiting Professor of Spanish, for one semester, effective September 1, 1989
- Mr. Barry M. Farr as William S. Jordan, Jr., Professor of Internal Medicine in Epidemiology, effective July 1, 1989, Dr. Farr will continue as Associate Professor of Internal Medicine.
- Mr. Edmund H. Henderson as Thomas G. Jewell Professor of Education, effective September 1, 1989.
- Mr. Ray C. Hunt, Jr., as F. S. Cornell Professor of Free Enterprise, effective September 1, 1989
- Mr. William A. Jesser as Thomas Goodwin Digges Professor of Materials Science, effective September 1, 1989.
- Dr. Richard W. Kesler as Medical Alumni Professor of Pediatrics, effective July 1, 1989
- Mr. Joseph C. Miller as Commonwealth Professor of History, effective July 1, 1989
- Dr. Robert J. Roberts as Benjamin Armistead Shepherd Professor of Pediatrics, effective July 1, 1989.
- Ms. Patricia M. Spacks as Edgar F. Shannon, Jr., Professor of English, effective July 1, 1989
- Mr. Gordon Tullock as John A. Ewald, Jr., Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law, for the period March 19, 1990 through April 27, 1990
- Mr. Chelsea C. White as Nancy and Neal Wade Professor of Systems Engineering, effective July 1, 1989.
- Mr. Tod Williams as Thomas Jefferson Professor of Architecture, for the period January 16, 1990 through March 15, 1990
- Mr. Tibor Wlassics as William R. Kenan, Jr., Professor of Italian, effective September 1, 1989

- Mr. Robert L. Grinaker as Carmen G. Blough Visiting Professor of Commerce, for two academic years, effective September 1, 1989.
- Mr. Herbert Hausmaninger as John A. Ewald, Jr., Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law, for the period September 1, 1989, through October 31, 1989.
- Mr. Bernard A. Morin as Morris Plan Chair of Consumer Banking, for the period July 1, 1989 through July 31, 1989. Mr. Morin will continue as Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company Professor of Commerce.
- Mr. Frederick D. Nichols as Cary D. Langhorne Professor of Architecture, for one academic year, effective September 1, 1989.
- Mr. William E. O'Connell, Jr., as Visiting Virginia Bankers Association Professor of Bank Management, for one semester, effective January 16, 1990.

- Mr. Edmund W. Kitch, Joseph M. Hartfield Professor of Law, without pay, for the period September 1, 1989 through May 31, 1990, to be visiting professor at New York University School of Law.
- Mr. John T. Monahan, Henry L. and Grace Doherty Charitable Foundation Professor of Law and Professor of Psychology and of Legal Medicine, with partial pay, for the period September 1, 1989 through May 30, 1990, to accept a fellowship at Stanford University.
