AUTHORIZATION FOR ACCEPTANCE OF DuPONT GIFT
Chancellor Simpson reported to the Board that Jessie Ball duPont (Mrs. Alfred I. duPont) had presented to Mary Washington College, 100 shares of the common stock of General Motors Corporation, represented by Stock Certificates Numbers 985-953 and 985-954 for 50 shares, each, the proceeds to be added to the Lalla Gresham Ball Scholarship Fund. Mrs. duPont requested that no publicity be given this contribution.
The stock power which was enclosed with the certificates assigned them to Mary Washington College and, in order to complete the transfer, the transfer agents required a resolution from the Board authorizing a particular officer of Mary Washington College to carry the transfer through to a conclusion.
Upon motion, duly seconded, it was,
RESOLVED, that Edgar E. Woodward, Bursar of Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia, be and he is hereby authorized, empowered and directed to execute, in the name and on behalf of said Mary Washington College, a stock power directing the transfer of 100 shares of the common stock of General Motor Corporation to Hamac & Company.
