EPIGRAM.

CUPID turn'd PLOUGHMAN.

ONCE Cupid, assuming a rustical Slouch,
With a Goad in his Hand, at his Shoulder a Pouch,
(His Torch and his Bow were awhile thrown aside)
Yok'd his Bulls to the Plough, and thus waggishly cried:
‘Now, Jove, swell the Grain! Or, I'll make thee—no Joke—
‘Gentle Bull of Europa, submit to the Yoke!
