REVOCATION OF POLICY ON INDEMNIFICATION

In 1983, the Board of Visitors adopted a Policy on Indemnification covering officers, employees and other agents of the University. That Policy was adopted to address certain situations that might fall outside of the then existing liability insurance policy coverage. The Commonwealth of Virginia has now established a self-insurance plan to cover claims against officers, employees and agents of the Commonwealth and its agencies. The State Office of Risk Management states that the plan's coverage is broad and the assets of the Commonwealth stand behind the plan. In light of the changed circumstances, the following resolution was adopted:

RESOLVED, that the Policy on Indemnification adopted by the Board of Visitors at its meeting on January 22, 1983, be, and it hereby is, revoked.
