Accounts, bills, receipts, and promissory notes of Seip, a doctor of Natchez, Mississippi, and a diary fragment written by Seip's grandson that records information about slaves at Oak Isle Plantation in Alexandria, Louisiana. The final item in the collection is a typescript of "The Burning of Alexandria, Louisiana, in May 1864," a paper delivered before a Confederate reunion that describes the history of Alexandria during the Civil War.
