PRESIDENT'S SALARY

Visitor Walker reported that he, Visitor Blanton, and the Rector, acting under the
instructions given to them by the Board at its meeting on 16 October 1964, had waited upon the
Governor with the request that the President's salary be increased to $25,000 per year from the
present $22,500 ($21,000 from the State and $1,500 from local funds). He stated that the
Governor had subsequently approved a salary of $25,000 ($23,500 from the State and $1,500 from
local funds) and expressed the belief that this was the most that could have been obtained.
The Visitors expressed their appreciation for the committee's work and the Rector ordered the
committee to be discharged.
