Sulpicia to Cerinthus. XII.

My Life! may I be less esteem'd by you
Than what I thought my self some Days ago?
If any Fault, if any trifling Crime
Of all my youthful Hours, and foolish Time,
E'er vex'd me more, than what I've lately done
Abruptly, leaving you last Night alone.
'Twas Slight; the little Artifice I try'd
To blind my Passion which I strove to hide.
