Oh, how sweet the heart reposesOn the hopes of future hours!
Thus before the bud uncloses
We prize it for its promised flowers.
'Midst the gloomy shades of night
How we long for morning's light!
So, ere yet it loves—the breast
Sighs for love to make it blest.
