University of Virginia Library

Linden Kent Prize.

A prize of the value of twenty-five dollars
is offered by the Linden Kent Memorial
School of English Literature in
the University for the best essay, biographical
and critical, on a hitherto unexploited
Virginia author. This is a step
in keeping with the aggressive and progressive
attitude of the department,
through which so much has already been
done to stimulate and direct pioneer work
in literature and history, especially in
Southern fields.
