APPROVAL OF DEDICATION TO PUBLIC USE OF A STRIP OF UNIVERSITY
LAND AND PERMANENT EASEMENTS FOR SPRINT-CENTEL AND THE CITY
OF CHARLOTTESVILLE GAS DIVISION ON UNIVERSITY LAND IN THE
VICINITY OF RUGBY ROAD

The following resolution was adopted:

  • RESOLVED that the Dedication to Public Use dated June 15, 1996, of a strip of land on the east side of Rugby Road from the University Avenue intersection to the Peyton House for the purpose of the widening of Rugby Road and the installation of an adjacent sidewalk on University property owned by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia is approved;
  • RESOLVED FURTHER that the granting of a permanent 15' wide easement dated June 15, 1996, to Sprint-Centel to permit the replacement of telecommunication lines to Madison Hall on University property owned by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia is approved;

  • RESOLVED FURTHER that the granting of a permanent easement dated June 15, 1996, to the City of Charlottesville Gas Division to permit the connection of a new natural gas transmission line to an existing line on University property south of the intersection of University Avenue and Rugby Road and owned by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia is approved;
  • RESOLVED FURTHER that appropriate officers of the University are authorized to execute said dedication and easements.
