Are we not from God descended,
Guided, guarded, blest by Him?
May we not, by peace attended,
Through this earthly twilight dim,
Hasten to a morning shining
O'er the desert of the tomb,
Where, in sweet repose reclining,
We may sleep, and then speed home?
