prerequisite.—This course represents graduate work for the Ph. D. degree.

equivalent preparation will be admitted to it. The course in Analytical
Mechanics is a necessary preliminary. The work is distributed as follows,
and is given mainly by lectures:
A. Theory of Attraction and the Potential.
B. General Principles of Theoretical Dynamics.
C. Dynamics of Material Systems.
D. Theory of Elasticity.
E. Hydrodynamics.
F. Higher Geodesy.
The six courses are intended to cover two years of graduate work.
