Edgar Allan Poe was in attendance at the University of Virginia from February to
December 1826.

Poe only attended the second session of classes at the University during the 1825-26
school year. His adoptive father, John Allen,
to whom this letter is addressed, refused to fund additional
schooling at the University for young Edgar.
