Summary
Manuscript, Valentine Museum, Richmond, Virginia; Poe is relieved to know that he has not offended his foster father and relates how destitute he is. He also explains that his prospects of an appointment through Mr. Eaton are poor. At the close of the letter Poe requests that Allan send him his trunk of books and letters to Baltimore in the care of H. W. Bool, Jr.
