Letter, from John Allan to Edgar Allan Poe, 1827 March 20
| ||
Summary
Manuscript, Valentine Museum, Richmond, Virginia; John Allan responds to Poe's complaints of neglect in the two letters prior to this one. Allan attempts to validate his treatment of Poe and to answer all the charges Poe has brought against him. The curt and sardonic close to the letter suggests that Allan will provide no aid.
