Edgar Allan Poe thanks his step-father for sending a $100 draft, and
says that, following Mr. Warwick's advice, he will lay the draft
aside. Edgar found his Grandmother and other relatives and learned that
his Grandfather had been Quartmaster General of the U.S. Army in the
Revolutionary War. He had introduced himself to a Mr. Wirt and visited
him frequently in Baltimore.
signs off by sending his best to Miss Valentine and all at home. The
envelope contains a notation by John Allan listing his recent financial
support of Poe.
