Summary
Manuscript, University of Virginia;
Edgar Allan Poe acknowledges the belated receipt of a package sent to
him on April 30, by L.J. Cist, which contained the proofs of Mrs.
Nichols' memoirs. This package was forwarded to his current New York
address from Graham's office. He praises the text, and expresses
willingness to read the entire volume.
He also claims that he will write to Graham, to arrange for the
changes to "The Beaten Path." In the postscript, he adds that the
"Poems" should be forwarded through Graham.
