18 pages of history. Edward III conquered Scotland twice & both times they shook off the yoke of the conqueror. This prince leaving Scotland went to France to procure his claim to the crown of that country, but finding he could do nothing without coming to an open war he determined to do so and returned to England. Having prepared himself with an army of 50,000 men he went over to france & encamped on the fields of Veronfosse but being opposed to engage against Phillips army which was a great deal larger than his he returned into Flanders and disbanded his army.
