SCENE III.

Sopheian
alone.
So, now 'tis come—thy will, Omnipotence!
For thou dost rule the hour, wherein Sopheian,
Or his great foe, must fall!—If human justice
Might now decide—but O, 'tis weak, 'tis shallow—
Thy judgments sink an infinite beneath,
And mock the mortal fathom!—
He comes, the ambassador—ha! on my credence,
And shews a presence, that, from ruder ears,
Might well bespeak his hearing!
