ADVICE OF FRIENDSHIP.

Why pines the youth? why droops my friend?
Why yields he to despair?
Go; the nectareous juice shall end
Thy heart consuming care.
'Twill drown Love's pinion, quench his dart,
'Twill banish all annoy;
'Twill cure the anguish of the heart,
And rouse to life and joy.
Come, haste away! let Friendship now
Love's fetter disunite;
Thy care-worn breast will soon avow,
That Friendship counsell'd right.
