Beneath this sketch of Mary's face,How vainly does the muse essay
To add one gleam to Beauty's grace,
Or splendor to its heavenly ray!

'Twere vain to draw in brighter glowThe workings of the painter's art:
Suffice it, lovely Girl, to know—
Their charms enslav'd my doating heart!
