WENDELINE.

An English Rosebud without Thorns.

I hail alike the good and ill,
And when gray sorrows do rise up
They take the moulding of my will,
As troubled waters in a cup.
But it is thou, O magic maid,
Repairing every broken string,
By whose unconscious art and aid
I learned to conquer so and sing.
