IMITATION OF WALLER.
WALLER TO ST. EVREMOND.
O Vales of Penshurst, now so long unseen!Forgot each shade secure, each winding green;
Those lonely paths, what art have I to tread,
Where once young Love, the blind enthusiast, led?
Yet if the genius of your conscious groves
His Sidney in my Sacharissa loves;
Let him with pride her cruel power unfold;
By him my pains let Evremond be told.
