I

Young Strephon, who thro' ev'ry Grove,
Had chas'd the fleeting God of Love,
Met Hymen once, who cross'd his Joy,
And chain'd the Am'rous Captive Boy.

II

Happy the Swains, who only stray
Where Love and Pleasure lead the Way;
Where Hymen's Arts can never move,
And Love receives no Tye, but Love.
