The life and death of Queene Elizabeth | ||
Vpon the removing of her body to the Palace of White-Hall by Water, were written these Passionate dolefull Lines.
The Queen was brought by water to White Hall,At every stroak the Oares Teares let fall;
More clung about the Barge, fish under water
Wept out their eyes of Pearle, and swum blind after:
I thinke the Barge-men might with easier thighes
Have row'd her thither in her peoples eyes.
For howsoe're, thus much my thoughts have scand,
Sh'ad come by Water had she come by land.
