V.Vpon a hill, the bonny boy

[1]

Vpon a hill, a hill, the bony bony, boy,
Sweet Thirsis sweetly plaid,
And calde his lambes their maisters ioy,

But loue that giues the louers wings,
Withdrew his mind, his mind, withdrew his mind,
Withdrew his mind, his mind from other things.

for Milla was his note,
This silly pipe could neuer get,
this louely name by rote.
With that they both fell in a sound,
he fell a sleepe, his pipe to ground.
