Cōmaundmēt gaue that all should hold theire tongues
At which as dumb a while the Audyence satt
Vntill a woman with hir taile gann chatt
Why who talkes there (the rev'rend father cries?)
All hold theire tongues (graue Iudge) the men replies
Onelie a woman troubled here with wind
Vnto hir self (wee thinke) doth breake hir mind
Indeed quoth hee to much it is to doe
T'make women hold theire tailes and their tongues too.
