SONNET. XLIII.
[Thou canst not die whilst any zeale abound]
Thou canst not die whilst any zeale aboundIn feeling hearts that can conceiue these lines;
Though thou a Laura hast no Petrarch found,
In base attire, yet cleerly Beauty shines.
And I (though borne within a colder clime,)
Do feele mine inward heat as great (I know it:)
He neuer had more faith, although more rime,
I loue as well, though he could better show it.
But I may adde one feather to thy fame,
To helpe her flight throughout the fairest Ile,
And if my pen could more enlarge thy name,
Then shouldst thou liue in an immortall stile.
66
Suffice, thou shalt be lou'd as well as shee.
