A song of Degrees. Another Ascent, is earnest prayer: UUhich the Faithfull soul here powreth forth for assistance, &c. It may serve as a forme of prayer in great extremities.

Lord, from the depths, to thee I sue;My vocall prayer hear.
And, when my Voice, my wants doth shewe
Encline to mee thine ear.
Lord, who cann bear it, if severe,
To mark our faults thou be?
But, that wee faint not in thy fear,

On God I waite, & on his word,My soul her hopes doth lay:
My soul, more waiteth for the Lord,
Then watchmen, for the day.
Oh Isr'ell, trust in God; for hee;
Hath gratious help, in store.
And, from thy sinns delivers thee,
Both now, & evermore.
