To his true friend the Author, Maister Shackerley Marmion, &c.

What need I racke the limbs of my weake Muse,
To fill a page might serve for better use?
Then make some squint-ey'd Reader censure me
A Flatterer, for iustly praysing thee?
It is enough, (and in that causes right
Many thy former workes may boldly fight)
He for a good one must this piece allow,
Reades but the Title, and thy Name below.
