Song
They sing of Zion, city built of old,Jerusalem compacted, high, and fair;
Whither the tribes went up their feasts to hold,
And where established thrones of judgement were.
They sing how God, in ancient times, had led
His chosen people through a desert way,
How He by miracle their hunger fed,
And mighty acts by Moses did display;
How He drove out the heathen from their place,
And gave his people in their land to dwell;
That they might ever stand before His face,
And of his deeds to children's children tell;
And while they kept his holy just command,
Inherit still, as theirs, the promised land.
