DELIVERANCE FROM DANGER.

Ruler of the earth and sky,
Who the mighty deep doth hold
In the hollow of Thy hand,
By thy slightest word controlled;
Who the stormy winds dost curb,
Rushing on their midnight path,
And the reeling vessel save
From the tempest of their wrath;
Thou from shipwreck and despair
Didst our souls in safety set,
When all human help was vain,
May we ne'er thy love forget;

61

Ne'er the tender mercy grieve
That upheld us when we prayed,
Nor the sacred promise break
That in danger's hour we made.
