Dedications , in former times, meant nothing, so far as literary excellence, on the part of the patron dedicatory, was supposed thereby to be indicated. The tendency of modern usage has, perhaps, been to bring these things to a sounder condition. However this may be, the object of the present offering is, simply to express a respect for your poetic talents and genius.
