ASYLUM—PROTECTION.

BEAUTY COMBINED WITH PIETY.

BEAUTY EVER NEW.

COME DOWN TO ME.

Your amiability, and the excellence of your character, have compelled me to declare my love.

DECLARATION OF LOVE.

DECEITFUL CHARMS.

ENTERTAINMENT—FEASTING.

FLATTERY'S SMILE.

Forget me not, for, alas! we may never meet again.

HAVE I CAUGHT YOU AT LAST?

HEARTLESS BEAUTY.

HOW CAME YOU HERE?

I DIE IF NEGLECTED.

In preference, I attach myself to you, but shall die if neglected.

I WILL ENLIGHTEN YOU.

I TRUST IN THEE.

I WILL NOT TROUBLE YOU.

I WILL THINK OF IT.

Be not impatient, I will think of it.

JUSTICE SHALL BE DONE YOU.

Love is the poetry of life.

LOVE IN A SNOW-WREATH.

MELANCHOLY SPIRIT.

I send you a message of love on the wings of hope

Your modesty and innocence secure you the preference.

PEERLESS AND PROUD.

RESOLVE THE RIDDLE.

You have the power to restore me to happiness.

SOUL OF MY SOUL.

SLEEP OF THE HEART.

My heart would be at ease, if my solitude were blest with your society.

THE HEART THAT KNOWS NOT LOVE.

WILL YOU PLEDGE ME?

WIN ME AND WEAR ME.

YOUR BLUSH HAS WON ME.

YOUR IMAGE IS ENGRAVEN ON MY HEART.

YOUR QUALITIES SURPASS YOUR CHARMS.

YOUR FROWN I DEFY.

BEAUTY COMBINED WITH PIETY.

WATER-STAR.

As lightly floats the water-star,
And gems the limpid stream,
Thy graceful, radiant loveliness,
A star of earth doth beam!
As 'neath the wave its seeds are nursed,
For future bloom above,
Within thy soul, thou cherishest
Hope, meekness, faith, and love:
And like the germ, that soul shall rise,
When earth's cold bonds are riven,
Inhale the light in cloudless skies,
And bloom—a star of heaven!
