Poems by John B. Tabb
37
TO MY SHADOW.
Friend
forever in the light
Cleaving to my side,
Harbinger of endless night
That must soon betide;
“Hither,” seemest thou to say,
“From the twilight now:
In the darkness when I stay,
Never thence wilt thou.”
