ARCHBISHOP WILLIAMS'S JUBILEE

Fifty years of faithful service,
Saintly record and renown;
Better than the poet's laurels,
He shall wear the patriarch's crown.
Let the generations gather,
Young and old their tributes blend,
For the orphan calls him father,
And the suffering call him friend.
In the name of God most holy
Did this champion take the field;
For the love of Christ the lowly
Has he ministered and healed.
Benedictions at the altar
Hath he called on many a head;
It is now your turn to bless him
Who has given you heavenly bread.
Let the generations gather!
Thanks and prayers to Heaven ascend,
To the everlasting Father,
For the Master, Teacher, Friend!
1895.
