THE BABY SHOW.
Babies large, and babies small,
And babies fat and fair;
The fond mammas and fond papas
Had all the young ones there.

“The paper man” just viewed the scene,
And decided in a minute;
That the infant with the “kinky-top”
Was certainly not “in it.”

A few, though fat and chubby sprites,
With mothers to defend them,
Because their colors “ran to dark,”
Had nothing to commend them.

Perhaps to some this argues ill,
And some no doubt are frightened;
But, to my mind, it demonstrates
We are simply being enlightened.
