ACTIONS RELATING TO CHAIRHOLDERS
The following resolution was adopted;
- RESOLVED that the actions relating to chairholders be and they are hereby approved as shown below:
- (a) Elections
- Mr. Ronald M. Dworkin as John A. Ewald, Jr., Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law, for the period October 7, 1984, through October 10, 1984, at a salary of $4,000.
- William E. Fulmer as The Eleanor F. and Philip G. Rust Professor of Business Administration, The Darden School, for one year, effective January 16, 1985, at a salary of $55,000.
- Mr. Jaquelin T. Robertson as Commonwealth Professor of Architecture, effective July 1, 1985.
- (b) Correction in the Chair Election of Mr. Herman H. Shugart.
- Correct the election of Mr. Herman H. Shugart as shown in the Minutes of the meeting of October 5, 1984, to read as follows:
- Mr. Herman H. Shugart as William W. Corcoran Professor of Environmental Sciences, effective November 16, 1984.
- (c) Leaves of Absence of Chairholders
- Mr. Javier S. Herrero, William R. Kenan, Jr., Professor of Spanish, without pay, for the period February 1, 1985 through April 30, 1985, to be Visiting Mellon Professor at Tulane University.
- Mr. James S. McCarthy, W. L. Lyons Brown Professor Department of Physics without pay, for the period October 1, 1984, through June 30, 1985, to devote full time to the Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility Project.
- Mr. Roland N. McKean, Paul Goodloe McIntire Professor of Economics, with partial pay, for one semester, effective January 16, 1985, to do research.
- Mr. Leland B. Yeager, Paul Goodloe McIntire Professor of Economics, without pay, for one semester, effective January 16, 1985, to teach at Auburn University.
- (d) Change of Title of Chairholders
- Mr. James F. Childress, from Commonwealth Professor of Religious Studies and Professor of Medical Education, to Edwin B. Kyle Professor of Christian Studies and Professor of Medical Education, effective September 1, 1985.
- Mr. John J. Dorning, from Whitney Stone Professor of Nuclear Engineering, to Whitney Stone Professor of Nuclear Engineering and Professor of Engineering Physics, effective August 16, 1984, at an annual salary of $79,400.
- (e) Resignation of Chairholder
- Mr. Potter Stewart, John A. Ewald, Jr., Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law, effective October 14, 1984, due to illness.
