THE CHANCELLOR OF THE UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA’S COLLEGE AT WISE

The Rector reported on the trip that Members of the Board made to Wise earlier in the week, the highlights of the trip having been the chance it gave Members to meet the new Chancellor, and to meet with members of the Southwest Virginia General Assembly Delegation.

Board Members also participated in the dedication of the statue of Thomas Jefferson, a recent gift to the College from the University.

At the Rector’s request, the President introduced Mr. David J. Prior, who assumed his duties as Chancellor of The University of Virginia’s College at Wise on September 1st.

Mr. Prior, who took the Ph.D. in Neurophysiology from the University in 1972, has come to Wise from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, where he was Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
